Last year in April 2013 I registered for a course from Granta Design, a spin off of the Cambridge University. The course was about the Material Selector and Design Software called CES Edupack 2013 for designers, engineers and scientists. The course was partly delivered by Prof. Mike Ashby at Cambridge University UK. It was an honor to meet Prof. Ashby in person and to follow his lecture. The unique opportunity to discuss and debate with the leading expert and founder of this great method and talking about the future of material science and the importance for designers and engineers.
Fontys School of Engineering will implement the software in their bachelor programs. Starting with the mechanical engineering department. The software comes with great and complete resources for lecturers and students. The interactive way of working and the combination of materials science and statics and dynamics of products really fits great in the way students learn and work.
